Using Noemi as a Plugin
Alongside the standalone app, Noemi ships as audio plugins so you can run its generative graph inside a DAW.
FORMATS
- macOS — AU, VST3, CLAP, LV2
- Windows — VST3, CLAP, LV2
- Linux — VST3, CLAP, LV2
- iOS — AUv3
TWO VARIANTS
Each format is built in two flavours:
- Noemi — The instrument variant. Load it on an instrument/MIDI track. It accepts MIDI from the host and outputs audio.
- Noemi FX — The effect variant. Load it on an audio track so the track's audio flows into Noemi via an Audio Input node, letting you process host audio through Noemi's effects and modulation. It still accepts MIDI too.
HOST-EXPOSED PARAMETERS
Noemi exposes a compact set of automatable parameters to the DAW:
- Master Volume - Overall output level (-60 to +6 dB)
- Host Sync — When on (default), Noemi follows the host's tempo and transport. Turn it off to run Noemi's own clock independently of the DAW.
- Macro 1-8 — The first 8 macro modulation sources (see Modulation). Automate or MIDI-learn these in the host to drive whole banks of Noemi parameters. The bridge is bidirectional.
HOST MIDI OUTPUT
A MIDI Output node can target "Host (DAW)" in plugin builds, sending Noemi's generated MIDI back out through the plugin to drive your DAW's own instruments. See MIDI Output.
WHAT'S DIFFERENT IN PLUGIN MODE
- The File menu is trimmed to Microtuning Settings and Keyboard Shortcuts (project open/save, audio device, and OSC settings are handled by the host).
- The QWERTY computer-keyboard input is disabled (the host owns keyboard focus).
- The welcome dialog does not appear.
- Noemi's full graph, mixer, modulation, mastering, and scenes are saved inside the DAW's session state, so your patch travels with the project.
