Export Audio
File > Export Audio (Cmd+E) renders your composition to an audio file.
RENDER SCOPE
- Entire Song — Renders the full composition
- All Arrangements - Renders each arrangement section separately
- Time Duration — Renders a specified number of seconds
TRACK OUTPUT
- Single Mixed WAV - One stereo WAV file with all tracks mixed
- Multitrack WAV — Separate WAV files per track
MULTITRACK OPTIONS
When multitrack is selected, additional toggles appear:
- Include Bus FX — Include bus effect return tracks in the multitrack export
- Include Mastering — Apply the mastering chain to the mixed output
MP3 EXPORT
Check "Also export MP3" to create an MP3 alongside the WAV file.
EXPORT FILENAMES
Exported files are saved to a timestamped folder inside your chosen directory. Filenames include tempo and master key when available (e.g., "MyProject_120bpm_Cmaj_Mix.wav").
MIDI DRAG AND DROP
Drag a standard MIDI file (.mid) from your file browser onto the Noemi canvas to create a new Pattern node with the imported notes. Timing, pitch, and velocity are preserved.
MIDI can also go the other way: drag a Pattern editor's Save MIDI button onto a DAW track or the Finder/Explorer to drop the pattern out as a .mid clip. Click the same button to open a save dialog instead. See the Pattern chapter for details.
AUDIO DRAG AND DROP
Drag an audio file onto the canvas to create a new Waveform node. Drag an audio file onto an existing Waveform node to replace its audio content. Supported formats include WAV, AIFF, FLAC, and MP3.
EXPORT / IMPORT PATCHES
- Edit > Export Selection saves selected nodes as a .nmpatch file, including connections and modulation routes between them.
- Edit > Import Patch loads a .nmpatch file, creating new nodes with unique IDs and reconnected wiring.
Individual presets can be exported/imported via the Preset Browser panel using the Export and Import buttons (.nmp files).
AUTOSAVE & CRASH RECOVERY
Noemi autosaves your work periodically. If the app crashes or is force-quit, the next launch will offer to recover your unsaved work.
CRASH REPORTS
If Noemi ever crashes, it writes a small crash report (crash_<pid>_<time>.txt) into its Logs folder before exiting. The report records the app version, operating system, the project file that was open, and a stack trace, alongside the per-session .log. If you report a bug, attaching these files makes the crash far easier to track down. The Logs folder lives in Noemi's application-data directory.
