Changelog
Updates and improvements to Tweakbench plugins.
- Noemi 1.0.3: All timeline editors (piano roll, drum grid, automation lane, Arrangement View, Waveform, Slicer) now have visible scrollbars with zoom buttons; trackpad horizontal swipes pan the timeline.
- Noemi 1.0.3: Piano roll and drum grid: double-click adds or removes notes (Reason/Bitwig style), and click-drag on empty space lasso-selects a group that moves together.
- Noemi 1.0.3: New MIDI Splitter module: up to 16 output ports, each filtering a MIDI channel, so multi-channel sources (controllers, Maschine, Reaktor, VCV Rack) can drive a different instrument per channel.
- Noemi 1.0.3: Fixed: tempo-synced modulation sources (LFO, step sequencer, random, mini-notation) ran at a fixed 120 BPM regardless of project tempo. They are now phase-locked to the transport and cannot drift.
- Noemi 1.0.3: Fixed: modulation phases kept running across stop/play, so a pattern's relationship to its LFOs changed on every transport cycle. Play now restarts everything together.
- Noemi 1.0.3: As a plugin, Noemi now locks to the host's timeline: aligned start, locate and loop following, and continuous drift correction. Ableton Link phase corrections now reach the pattern clock.
- Noemi 1.0.3: The step sequencer modulator gained a tempo-sync mode with musical divisions (1/1-1/32, dotted and triplet), and rate knobs on the LFO and step sequencer cards show a live readout.
- Noemi 1.0.3: Double-click or Cmd-click resets any knob or slider to its default, including modulation route depths. Fixed Transformer knobs resetting to the panel-open value instead of the true default.
- Noemi 1.0.3: Fixed: freeze at launch on Linux desktops without a compositor (i3, dwm) - GPU rendering is now compositor-gated with a View menu override, and plugin editors always use software rendering.
- Noemi 1.0.3: Fixed: in Ableton Live on macOS, editor windows of plugins hosted inside Noemi opened behind Noemi's own window.
- Noemi 1.0.3: Fixed: dragging most Transformer knobs (Transpose semitones, gate probability, velocity scale, arp rate, humanize amounts, random transpose range, Markov/Style temperature) had no effect - only modulation moved them.
- Noemi 1.0.3: Transformer editors rebuilt to the standard control language: full-size knobs, tidy layouts, note names on the Note Filter pitch range, and a live pattern display on the Euclidean Rhythm. Any knob whose parameter can be modulated - on transformers, Granular, Chirusa, and the internal effects - now shows a dot in the modulator's color while a route targets it.
- Noemi 1.0.3: SimSim, Cantia, and Leeroy synth parameters (oscillator, filter, envelope, per-drum level/pan/tune, and effects mix) are now modulation targets and host-automatable.
- Noemi 1.0.3: Knobs targeted by a modulation route now animate with the modulated value instead of only showing the indicator dot.
- Noemi 1.0.3: Fixed stuck notes when changing a transformer's settings or toggling its enable state while notes are held (Scale Quantizer, Transpose, Random Transpose, Chord Generator, Markov Chain, Style Learner).
- Noemi 1.0.2: Plugin modules that produce MIDI - arps, step sequencers, Rack-style hybrids - now have a second output port carrying that MIDI, alongside their audio output. Patch it into an instrument, a Transformer, or a MIDI Output module and the plugin can drive the rest of your composition while its own audio keeps flowing to the mixer. Previously the only way to get MIDI out of a plugin was "Use as MIDI Effect", which gave up the audio output entirely. Notes and controller data both travel the new port, and the two cables stay independent.
- Noemi 1.0.2: Fixed: notes from one MIDI Input module could be dispatched by an unrelated MIDI Output on a different channel. Incoming notes were also being injected into whatever module happened to be selected on the canvas, regardless of channel, and then sent on down that module's chain. With a multi-channel controller — a Beatstep Pro sending drums on channel 10 and a sequence on channel 1, say — the drums arrived at the synth as well as the drum machine. Selected-module auditioning now steps aside whenever a MIDI Input module already covers the incoming channel, so your patch cables decide where notes go.
- Noemi 1.0.2: Fixed: MIDI CC bindings only worked on channel 1. Any CC arriving on channels 2-16 was routed straight to MPE expression handling and never reached the binding system, so a knob on channel 10 could not be mapped to a Noemi parameter at all. Bindings are now checked first on every channel. Pitch bend and aftertouch shared the same hardcoded assumption and follow the same rule now.
- Noemi 1.0.2: Fixed: opening a VCV Rack 2 window could hang Noemi on macOS. Rack runs its own event loop from inside its editor tick while holding an internal lock, and a display-scale update queued by Noemi could be delivered on that loop - calling back into Rack while it was still busy, which locked both sides up with no crash report. Scale updates now wait for the plugin to finish rather than interrupting it.
- Noemi 1.0.2: Fixed: a MIDI channel outside the valid range in a project file was applied as-is on load instead of being clamped, bypassing the checks the editors apply.
- Arsenal 4.1.1: Factory bank expanded from 10 kits to 40, rolled by the shipping kit randomizer at recorded seeds: FX Heavy, Noise Heavy, Sustained, Tight, and Balanced categories describe every kit's actual character
- Arsenal 4.1.1: Added the shared preset browser: search kits by name, filter by category or favourites, and rename or delete your own kits in place
- Arsenal 4.1.1: Trigger mapping now matches the Max for Live device: pads trigger on pitch classes C through G in every octave instead of fixed GM drum notes, so any keyboard octave plays the kit
- Bastion 4.1.1: Factory bank expanded from 12 presets to 40, each with its own kick and bass groove: new Breakbeat, Electro, and Dub categories join Classic Techno, Hard Techno, Deep House, and Experimental
- Bastion 4.1.1: Added the shared preset browser: search presets by name, filter by category or favourites, and rename or delete your own presets in place
- Bastion 4.1.1: Prev/next now step through whatever the browser is filtered to, and saving a preset is still a single click
- Bastion 4.1.1: Presets saved before this update are picked up automatically, so there is nothing to migrate
- Looms 4.1.1: Added the shared preset browser on its own row under the header: search presets by name, filter by category or favourites, and rename or delete your own presets in place (the window is 26 pixels taller to make room)
- Looms 4.1.1: Factory bank expanded from 20 presets to 40, rolled by the shipping Randomizer 2.0 engine at recorded seeds across the Groove, Bounce, Choppy, Echo, and Ambient categories
- Looms 4.1.1: Fixed two state bugs: a saved project no longer has its patch overwritten by a factory preset or a regenerated pattern on reopen, and automating the Program parameter now selects the preset it names instead of the wrong one
- Looms 4.1.1: User presets saved from the browser capture the full patch: parameters, sample choice, and the sequencer grid load together as one undoable action
- Pressure 4.1.1: Factory bank expanded from 12 presets to 40, rolled by the shipping Randomizer 2.0 policy at recorded seeds: new Wobble, Growl, and Grit categories join Sub, Reese, and Evolving
- Pressure 4.1.1: Added the shared preset browser: search presets by name, filter by category or favourites, and rename or delete your own presets in place
- Pressure 4.1.1: Fixed three state-restore bugs: a saved project no longer has its tweaks overwritten by the factory patch or a stale random seed on reopen, and hand-drawn envelope curves survive project reload instead of being regenerated from the shape preset
- Shrapnel 4.1.1: Fixed Detect slice mode: the transient detector measured each hit against its own attack, so it almost never found enough transients and silently fell back to equal slicing — the grid now follows the actual hits, and sparse breaks keep their real transients with the longest gaps subdivided instead of discarding the detections
- Shrapnel 4.1.1: Added the shared preset browser: search presets by name, filter by category or favourites, and rename or delete your own presets in place
- Shrapnel 4.1.1: Factory bank expanded from 12 presets to 40, rolled by the shipping Randomizer 2.0 engine at recorded seeds: new Chop, Timewarp, and Pitched patterns, with every preset tagged into browsable categories
- Shrapnel 4.1.1: User presets saved from the browser capture the whole kit: parameters, the step pattern, slicing, and your loaded break (embedded so it survives a moved file) load together as one undoable action
- Shrapnel 4.1.1: The host program list now reports the loaded preset instead of always the first one
- Tendril 4.1.1: Added the shared preset browser: search presets by name, filter by category or favourites, and rename or delete your own presets in place — and unlike the old dropdown, it works on iPad
- Tendril 4.1.1: Factory bank expanded from 34 presets to 40, rolled by the shipping Randomizer 2.0 engine at recorded seeds: three new basses, two keys, and a pad fill out the thin categories
- Tendril 4.1.1: Fixed two presets that were effectively silent: Needle Ratchet and Prism Ladder ran a pure sine through a filter tuned above its fundamental, so they now use pulse and saw sources that keep their character audible
- Tendril 4.1.1: User presets saved from the browser capture the full patch: parameters, per-note locks, and manual step edits load together as one undoable action
- Triforce 4.1.1: Factory bank expanded from 12 presets to 40, rolled by the shipping Randomizer 2.0 policy at recorded seeds: new Layered, Glide, and Pad categories join Lead, Pulse, Arp, Bass, Percussion, and FX
- Triforce 4.1.1: Added the shared preset browser in a new header row: search presets by name, filter by category or favourites, and rename or delete your own presets in place
- Triforce 4.1.1: The editor is 26 pixels taller to make room for the browser; the four channel panels are unchanged
- Noemi 1.0.1: Fixed: File > New Project left the arranger untouched. Open a demo project, then start a new one, and the demo's sections stayed on the timeline and kept firing scene changes. The arrangement is now cleared with the rest of the project. The same stale-state bug applied to loading a project that had no arrangement of its own.
- Noemi 1.0.1: Fixed: the Scene field in the section editor showed raw character codes (65 to 80) instead of scene numbers, was labelled A-P while the rest of Noemi numbers scenes 1-16, and would only accept a letter, so the value it displayed was one it refused to take. Scenes are now picked from a list of your actual scene names.
- Noemi 1.0.1: Fixed: sections in the transport arranger strip were drawn two pixels away from where they could be clicked.
- Noemi 1.0.1: New Arrangement View (View > Arrangement View, or F10): a full-window song editor with a bar ruler, drag-to-reorder, edge resizing, multi-select, inline renaming, keyboard editing, and separated automation lanes. The transport strip stays as a read-only mini-map.
- Noemi 1.0.1: New per-section controls: repeats, mute, and follow actions (repeat self, jump to a section, or pick a random one, with an optional probability) so an arrangement can be as non-deterministic as the rest of Noemi. Plus a Loop toggle for the whole arrangement, which previously always hard-stopped at the end.
- Noemi 1.0.1: Energy, role and random seed have driven playback since the arranger shipped but were editable nowhere. They are now in the section inspector.
- Noemi 1.0.1: Fixed: section crossfades ran at the start of the new section, so the first bars of every section were still mid-transition. A crossfade now runs at the end of the previous section and finishes exactly on the boundary, so each section starts cleanly on its own material.
- Jigsaw 4.1.0: Initial release: six-slot serial pedalboard with twelve lego-style blocks (Fuzz, Crush, Tape, Filter, Wobble, Phase, Echo, Spring, Hall, Hiss, Warble, Ring), drag-to-reorder, click-free block swapping, and Randomizer 2.0 rolling whole boards
