Inside WRK-925
THREE MODES
WRK is minimal techno — a steady four-on-the-floor with 303-style bass and sparse stabs. DUB slows the kick, saturates the tape echoes, and lets minor-9 chords swim. AIR drops the pulse entirely: overlapping harmonic swells and a breathing noise wash.
PURELY GENERATIVE
No samples, no loops, no playlists. Every kick, bassline, chord, and echo is synthesized and composed in real time from one session seed. The same seed always produces the same piece — a new seed is a new piece, forever.
COMPOSED, NOT SHUFFLED
A five-layer musical brain plans sessions the way a producer would: sections that deepen and lift over minutes, one change per phrase, harmony that departs and resolves, a motive each section develops. Slow enough to disappear behind your work.
SIX MACROS
Intensity, Tempo, Brightness, Width, Space, and a Session timer. Each one moves many musical decisions at once, always smoothly — the generator handles everything else.
FOCUS TIMER WITH A LANDING
Set a session length and the final minutes wind down on their own: elements peel away one at a time, the mix darkens and recedes, and the piece ends by dissolving instead of stopping.
OUT OF YOUR WAY
A menu bar app on macOS, a system tray app on Windows, a small window on Linux. No dock icon, no browser, no account. It follows your default audio device when you switch headphones.
TINY AND PRIVATE
A few megabytes, a fraction of a percent of CPU, zero network access. Your settings live in a local file. That's the whole footprint.
DETERMINISTIC TO THE BYTE
The engine is seed-deterministic and allocation-free on the audio thread, gated by an automated test suite covering the musical rules themselves — the pulse never stops, density stays minimal, sessions never audibly loop.
FREE FOREVER
No trial, no upsell, no DRM. Built on the same Tweakbench DSP that powers the plugin catalog.
