Changelog

Updates and improvements to the Tweakbench catalog.

  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed: the YouTube audio sampler downloads again; its bundled downloader now updates itself when it goes stale.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed (Windows, Linux): the YouTube sampler now fetches the audio converter it needs.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed: re-slicing the same video replaces the old audio instead of appending to it.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed: undo, redo, or a host reloading a session during playback could crash Noemi.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed: on narrow windows and on iPad, toolbar buttons past Effects disappeared. The toolbar now moves whatever does not fit into a menu, and the scene strip no longer collapses either.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed (iPad): long-pressing now opens context menus throughout the app.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed (iPad): opening a project from the Files app or another app now works. The project is copied into Noemi's Documents folder, so it saves normally afterwards.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed (iPad, plug-in): when the trial ends, Noemi now says so instead of going silent with no explanation.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed (iPad, plug-in): menus now open in the right instance when a host has several copies of Noemi loaded.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed (Windows, Linux): the YouTube audio sampler now works on all three platforms, fetching the helper tools it needs on first use.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed (Linux): secure connections now work, so the update check runs.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed (Windows, plug-in): Noemi's working folder no longer nests one level deeper on every load, which eventually broke session saves.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed (Windows): file names and paths are now correct in logs.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed (Windows): the installed program and plug-ins now report the real version in their file properties.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed: the Mod Matrix shows its routing connections again.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed (Linux especially): removing or recoloring a modulation could crash the app.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed: a MIDI effect that was never attached to an instrument is no longer routed and shown as though it were.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed (Linux): a failed plugin scan now explains itself. Every scan helper writes to 'scan-worker.log' beside the other logs, and 'Noemi --scan-file <path>' prints it after scanning.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed: projects now reopen framed on your modules; the canvas view is saved with the project. Files from earlier versions open framed around their modules.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed: modules added while the canvas was scrolled now land where they appear to.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed: a new project no longer opens with the Mixer half off the right-hand edge on smaller windows.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed (plug-in): saving a host session, reloading it and saving again now produces identical state.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Scrolling or zooming the canvas no longer marks a project unsaved, but is still kept by the next save.
  • Noemi 1.0.7: Fixed: the pattern and waveform lane settings popovers now follow the UI scale, open above the gear, and are easier to read.

  • Noemi 1.0.6: Fixed (Linux): a slow plugin scan could blacklist every plugin on the system. A helper that fails to start now blacklists nothing, and 'Noemi --scan-file <path>' scans one plugin and prints what it finds.
  • Noemi 1.0.6: Fixed: pinch and scroll zoom now work around the pointer, the minimap frames the right area, the dot grid stays put, and the zoom percentage is accurate.
  • Noemi 1.0.6: Fixed (iPad): dragging a control in the Mod Matrix or Mixer no longer scrolls the panel out from under your finger. Card backgrounds and empty space still scroll.
  • Noemi 1.0.6: Fixed: a project whose audio reached the Mixer through a group came back silent after reload. Reloading now restores any mixer-connected track whose slot was lost.
  • Noemi 1.0.6: Fixed: ungrouping left dangling cables and silent tracks until you re-cabled by hand.
  • Noemi 1.0.6: Changed: an instrument left with no path to the Mixer is now silenced instead of playing dry into the master.
  • Noemi 1.0.6: Fixed: the Effects and MIDI Effects menus now load the plug-in format you picked.
  • Noemi 1.0.6: Loading a project now validates the file first, so a corrupt or newer-version file leaves your open session untouched. A bad recovery file is quarantined instead of crashing every launch.
  • Noemi 1.0.6: Project, preset and recovery saves are atomic: a crash or full disk mid-save leaves either the old file or the new one, never a truncated project.
  • Noemi 1.0.6: Samples are stored once in a per-user library instead of being copied into every undo step, scene and autosave, so projects with samples use far less memory. Project files still carry their audio.
  • Noemi 1.0.6: The plug-ins now share the factory content installed with the app instead of embedding a copy: each binary is about 28 MB smaller, and a full install drops from over 1.1 GB to less than half that. All 25 manual illustrations now appear in the in-app manual.
  • Noemi 1.0.6: A NaN or infinity from a hosted plugin no longer poisons the EQ, dynamics and maximizer for the rest of the session; the mastering chain restarts cleanly.
  • Noemi 1.0.6: Fixed: the standalone app no longer spikes CPU on every fade to silence.
  • Noemi 1.0.6: Fixed: closing a hosted plugin's window during playback could disrupt audio.
  • Noemi 1.0.6: Adding, removing and re-cabling nodes no longer waits on a slow hosted plugin, and note routing costs far less on the timing thread.
  • Noemi 1.0.6: Fixed: saving while playing now stores the tempo you set rather than a mid-modulation value.
  • Noemi 1.0.6: As a plug-in, Noemi no longer installs process-wide crash handlers that could take the host down with it.
  • Noemi 1.0.6: In hosts: Noemi reports its true (zero) latency, stops only when the host stops (fixing Play halting in hosts like AUM), matches offline bounces to live playback, accepts mono and sidechain layouts, and reports its reverb and delay tail so renders no longer truncate it.

  • Sonidera 4.1.0: Initial release
  • Sonidera 4.1.0: Deterministic cumbia arrangement engine: key- and section-aware harmony, per-instrument patterns for four sub-styles, with generated bass, keys comping and lead over a 4-bar phrase
  • Sonidera 4.1.0: 8-slot synthesized percussion with articulations for skins, rims, slaps, scrapes, campana, hats and shakers, per-slot tune, decay and pan, plus user sample slots
  • Sonidera 4.1.0: Per-part GEN and locks, seed-reproducible presets, a 40-preset categorised bank, and Randomizer 2.0 with undo/redo, A/B and seed recipes
  • Sonidera 4.1.0: Internal clock for standalone and AUv3, cumbia shuffle with look-ahead micro-timing, spring reverb and tape delay sends, and a rebajada macro
  • Sonidera 4.1.0: MIDI drag-export of drums, bass, keys, lead or the whole arrangement

  • Noemi 1.0.5: Eight stereo output pairs when running as a plug-in: right-click a mixer strip or a node to send a part out on its own pair. Aux pairs skip the Mastering Chain, and start switched off so existing sessions open unchanged.
  • Noemi 1.0.5: The standalone app lists your interface's stereo pairs by name in the Output menu and opens the device channels for you. Projects fall back to the main mix on a smaller interface and re-attach when the pairs come back.
  • Noemi 1.0.5: Each pair of a hosted multi-out plugin can be routed independently. Mixer strips name themselves after their pair ("Kontakt 3/4"), and multitrack export now writes every wired pair as its own stem.
  • Noemi 1.0.5: New "Mute FX sends on aux out" toggle in the Output menu: silence a part's bus sends while it is aux-routed, and get them back untouched when it returns.
  • Noemi 1.0.5: Sidechain keying for effects: a hosted compressor, gate or ducker with a key input grows a second input port, so wiring a kick into it is one cable. The internal Compressor takes a key the same way, across VST3, AU, CLAP and LV2.
  • Noemi 1.0.5: New Utility internal effect: gain trim, stereo width, balance, mono fold, channel swap and per-channel polarity, fully modulatable like the other internal effects.
  • Noemi 1.0.5: The Connect menu now lists ports: each pair of a multi-out plugin, a plugin's MIDI out, and sidechain-capable effects as "- Sidechain". Disconnect lists cables individually, so one of several can be removed alone.
  • Noemi 1.0.5: Randomize Project rebuilt: a roll now varies every layer inside one tempo, key and scale, with one to three melodic voices, genuinely different signal flows, factory presets on instruments and effects, generated or library drums, bus sends and LFOs.
  • Noemi 1.0.5: Fixed: the Mixer node's bus port labels are now centred on their pins.
  • Noemi 1.0.5: MIDI Input nodes can now take a specific MIDI device, so two controllers can drive two chains without crossing over. Existing projects keep "All devices".
  • Noemi 1.0.5: Fixed: CLAP plugins with more than one audio output are now hosted properly, instead of arriving as a single stereo pair.
  • Noemi 1.0.5: Plugin nodes now show which format is loaded, with a VST3/AU/CLAP/LV2 badge on the node, in its tooltip, and in the plugin window's title bar.
  • Noemi 1.0.5: Fixed: choosing a plugin from the VST3, CLAP or LV2 menu could load its AudioUnit instead. The format you pick is the format you get.
  • Noemi 1.0.5: Fixed: replacing a plugin node could insert a different plugin than the one picked.
  • Noemi 1.0.5: Hosted multi-out plugins now expose their extra pairs as separate ports, so each part of a drum plugin or a Rack patch can be wired somewhere different instead of arriving pre-mixed. Multi-out effects split off their extra pairs too.
  • Noemi 1.0.5: Fixed: unloading a Noemi plug-in could crash the host, most visibly in Ableton Live when changing a plug-in's output routing.
  • Noemi 1.0.5: Fixed (Windows, Linux): the pin button in a hosted plugin's title bar sat partly underneath the close button.

  • WRK-925 1.0.0: Initial release.

  • Noemi 1.0.4: Fixed: toggling "Use as MIDI Effect" on a hosted plugin could crash Noemi.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: Fixed: a MIDI effect plugin on its holding track never ran, so a Transformer after it produced silence, it could not drive a MIDI Output, and its cables never animated.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: MIDI effect plugins now work in any topology, not just wired straight to one instrument. A direct connection keeps the sample-accurate path; a Transformer, a MIDI Output or fan-out to two instruments routes through the graph, which previously fed only one instrument.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: New Set MIDI Channel transformer, so multitimbral instruments are reachable. Plugin modules now send on the channel a note carries, and a MIDI Output can be set to "From note" to do the same.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: New MIDI CC Out module: sends a modulatable value out as a MIDI controller, so LFOs, automation and mini-notation can shape a hosted plugin or an external synth.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: New MIDI Round Robin transformer: cycles notes across a range of MIDI channels, for driving separate parts of a multitimbral instrument.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: New Note Delay transformer: MIDI echoes with feedback, per-repeat pitch offset, and repeats that keep the original note's length.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: New Gate Length transformer: scales how long notes sound.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: New Latch transformer: chord memory - holds notes until the next phrase begins.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: New Strum transformer: spreads chords out in time, up, down or randomly.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: Velocity Scaler gained a response curve, so it can compress or expand dynamics rather than only tilt them.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: Fixed: notes from the Arpeggiator and Euclidean Rhythm sustained until the same pitch retriggered or you hit panic.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: Fixed: humanization now actually moves notes off the grid, in the Humanize transformer, the Generator's Humanize control and song-section variations. Note-offs move with them, so notes keep their length.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: Fixed: stopping the transport could leave a note sounding when a transformer had a release queued.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: Fixed: re-selecting the device already shown in a MIDI Output now reopens the port, so a failed open can be retried.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: Fixed: controller data (CC, pitch bend, aftertouch) was dropped when a Transformer, a MIDI Output or a group boundary was in the way. Every path now routes it the same way.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: MIDI Splitter output ports are now labelled "in Ch N": they filter by incoming channel rather than assigning one.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: Transformer knobs now show their value beneath the dial, and every transformer node shows its current setting on the canvas.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: Fixed (Linux): plugin scanning could fail for every plugin, each sitting on "Testing" for 30 seconds and then going red.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: Plugin scanning now writes to the log in shipping builds, so a failed scan leaves something to go on.
  • Noemi 1.0.4: Fixed: grouping modules could silence them. Notes and controller data crossing a group boundary were dropped, so grouping an instrument with its effect cut the sound. Grouping a MIDI effect with its instrument also keeps its sample-accurate routing.

  • Noemi 1.0.3: All timeline editors (piano roll, drum grid, automation lane, Arrangement View, Waveform, Slicer) now have visible scrollbars with zoom buttons, and trackpad horizontal swipes pan the timeline.
  • Noemi 1.0.3: Piano roll and drum grid: double-click adds or removes notes (Reason/Bitwig style), and click-drag on empty space lasso-selects a group that moves together.
  • Noemi 1.0.3: New MIDI Splitter module: up to 16 output ports, each filtering a MIDI channel, so multi-channel sources can drive a different instrument per channel.
  • Noemi 1.0.3: Fixed: tempo-synced modulation (LFO, step sequencer, random, mini-notation) ran at a fixed 120 BPM. It is now phase-locked to the transport and cannot drift.
  • Noemi 1.0.3: Fixed: modulation phases kept running across stop and play, so a pattern's relationship to its LFOs changed every transport cycle. Play now restarts everything together.
  • Noemi 1.0.3: As a plug-in, Noemi now locks to the host timeline: aligned start, locate and loop following, and drift correction. Ableton Link phase corrections reach the pattern clock.
  • Noemi 1.0.3: The step sequencer modulator gained tempo-sync with musical divisions (1/1-1/32, dotted and triplet), and the LFO and step sequencer rate knobs show a live readout.
  • Noemi 1.0.3: Double-click or Cmd-click resets any knob or slider to its default, including modulation route depths. Transformer knobs now reset to the true default, not the panel-open value.
  • Noemi 1.0.3: Fixed (Linux): freeze at launch on desktops without a compositor (i3, dwm). GPU rendering is now compositor-gated, with a View menu override.
  • Noemi 1.0.3: Fixed (macOS): in Ableton Live, editor windows of plugins hosted inside Noemi opened behind Noemi's own window.
  • Noemi 1.0.3: Fixed: most Transformer knobs (transpose, gate probability, velocity scale, arp rate, humanize, random transpose range, temperature) could not be dragged, only modulated.
  • Noemi 1.0.3: Transformer editors rebuilt to the standard control language: full-size knobs, tidy layouts, note names on the Note Filter range, and a live pattern display on the Euclidean Rhythm. Any modulatable knob now shows a dot in the modulator's colour.
  • Noemi 1.0.3: SimSim, Cantia and Leeroy synth parameters (oscillator, filter, envelope, per-drum level, pan and tune, and effects mix) are now modulation targets and host-automatable.
  • Noemi 1.0.3: Knobs targeted by a modulation route now animate with the modulated value, instead of only showing the indicator dot.
  • Noemi 1.0.3: Fixed: stuck notes when changing a transformer's settings or enable state while notes are held (Scale Quantizer, Transpose, Random Transpose, Chord Generator, Markov Chain, Style Learner).

  • Noemi 1.0.2: Plugin modules that produce MIDI now carry it on a second output port, alongside their audio. Patch it into an instrument, a Transformer or a MIDI Output and the plugin drives the rest of your composition while its audio keeps flowing to the mixer.
  • Noemi 1.0.2: Fixed: notes from one MIDI Input module could be played by an unrelated MIDI Output on another channel, so a multi-channel controller reached instruments it was not cabled to. Your patch cables now decide where notes go.
  • Noemi 1.0.2: Fixed: MIDI CC bindings only worked on channel 1, so a knob on channel 10 could not be mapped at all. Bindings are now checked on every channel, and pitch bend and aftertouch follow the same rule.
  • Noemi 1.0.2: Fixed (macOS): opening a VCV Rack 2 window could hang Noemi.
  • Noemi 1.0.2: Fixed: an out-of-range MIDI channel in a project file is now clamped on load, as the editors already do.

  • Noemi 1.0.1: Fixed: sections in the transport arranger strip are now drawn where they can be clicked.
  • Noemi 1.0.1: New Arrangement View (View > Arrangement View, or F10): a full-window song editor with a bar ruler, drag-to-reorder, edge resizing, multi-select, inline renaming and separate automation lanes. The transport strip stays as a read-only mini-map.
